Have you ever noticed that people who are happy and smile a lot usually have better life and are more successful?
If not just trust me on this one
There are actually physiological and physiological reasons to smile.
It is a known fact that when we smile our body releases dopamine and serotonin. Dopamine centers are the part of the brain that makes us feel like we are doing something right, pretty much it is internal reward system in our body.
On top of it, researchers found that smiling boosts immune system, lowers blood pressure and reduces stress, which are all around very good and healthy qualities.
Sounds good? I am not done yet….
When you smile and reward yourself for something your sub-consensus picks up on it, learns it and integrates it, and it does it by building additional neural pathways. You are becoming smarter person and your brain develops more flexibility.
I do not know why this knowledge not well spread and why people do not use this natural way of getting better, because it is actually widely known in NLP. When I went on NLP course, after each exercise we were told to give ourselves a big smile and it was explained why.
So here you go, plenty of reasons to smile.
And if you still not convinced or just really hate yourself than smile so other people can smile back and get the benefits of smiling
That it for now…
Oh yah, before I am done, go back and re-read physiological reasons, they might make you realize why it is so addictive for us to be around happy people.
